Threats To Faith On Both Sides

In this message, we hear Jesus warn about threats to faith that can come from opposite directions. Discouragement can tempt us to lose heart and stop praying, while self-righteousness can cause us to stop depending on grace and start trusting in ourselves. Through the persistent widow, the Pharisee and tax collector, and the little children brought to Jesus, we see that the life of faith is a life of dependence from beginning to end. Whether we are waiting on God to act, growing in our walk with Him, or coming to Jesus for salvation, the call is the same: keep looking to Him, keep depending on grace, and keep living by faith.
