Burden of Proof
May 17, 2026 • Daniel Richmond
In this message, we see that unbelief is often not about a lack of evidence, but about hardened hearts. After Jesus casts out a demon, the crowd responds in several different ways. Some accuse Him of working by Satan’s power, some admire Him without obeying Him, and others demand even more proof before they will believe. Through Jesus’ responses, we are reminded that He is greater than Jonah, greater than Solomon, and the true source of power and transformation. This sermon challenges us to examine whether we are missing the power of God in our own lives by misidentifying His work, marveling without obedience, or delaying obedience until we have “more information,” and calls us instead to trust, obey, and fully submit to Christ.
